FOOTPATHS; ANNUAL REPORT 2004
The paths were walked from Jan/Feb/March 2004 Path 1: OK Path 2. OK. Path 3: OK
Path 5: Planted right up to hedge (which has not been done before), leaving no path, unless hedge were to be cut right back Markers at style off Drift Road badly damaged.
Path 6: OK
Path 7: Top of Norden Hifl to New Barn - 608993 to 611989; first part crosses motor cycle scramble track - dangerous, slippery and getting worse. Next field planted and no path left across field.
Path 8: 607981-617989: Ok, but needs drainage done, especially Drift Road
Path 9: 608980 to 615973; From Fore Hill to Maiden Newton Copse - no path left across field after planting. Along Maiden Newton Coppice and Parsons Coppice, scrub needs cutting back, especially around stile, and one has to walk in the field to avoid overgrowth
Path 10: OK
Path 11: 607964-615973: OK, but first field from railway arch no path has been left across field.
Path 12: 598979-603972: this track is in urgent need of drainage all the way along. The ditch at Station Approach has again silted up under the bridge.
Path 13: OK
Path 14; OK '
Paths 15-20 inclusive All OK although Path 18 has recently been ploughed and no path reinstated at time of walking.
Path 21: no markings Cruxton Farm end to where it joins Path 22; impassable through farm and fields. It reallv is time this was resolved.
Path 22: Is now roughly marked and has new barbed wire fence across middle with new stile - but no protecting bar at top, just a strand of barbed wire. Proceeding on to next field, the gate halfway along in hedge has been wired up with barbed wire and has to be climbed, and is further obstructed by a fallen tree right across in front of the gateway. Gate and hedge at disused pit end leave a lot to be desired - all these items are very-dangerous and action should be taken before an accident occurs.
Paths 23 - 27 inclusive - all OK.
Frome Vauchurch Path 9 - Macmillan Way: 592986-592981 - ploughed field, planted; no footpath reinstated.
