MAIDEN NEWTON ANNUAL PARISH MEETING

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON

THURSDAY 15 APRIL 2004  AT 7.00 PM

IN COMMUNAL ROOM WEBBERS PIECE

CHAIR: Cllr. Mrs S. Falkingham PRESENT: Cllr. Mrs E. Harris

Cllr. D. Chaffey
Cllr. D. Smith
Cllr. R. Watts
Cllr. J. Peake
District Cllr. N. Patmore

Andy Lloyd, Rural Housing Enabler, Dorset Community Action attended to discuss Housing Needs Survey. He presented the results of the survey and outlined the actions to be taken next. District Cllr Patmore questioned the assessment of varying need and Cllr Smith asked if those who indicated a need from outside the village would be followed up. Cllr Peake asked if any private houses are proposed in any future development as they may help to subsidise the Housing Association homes.

There were twelve members of the public present and the following comments were made:

· Clive Moore, Youth Club leader presented information that had been requested by the Parish Council about the proposed BMX track.

· Mark Williams described the actions of the local police officer following concerns brought to her attention at the last Parish Council meeting. These actions led him to make a complaint to the police authority to which he received an apology.

· Mark Williams requested the Church notice board be repositioned as it blocks the window of a room which is now in use as an office. Chairman Mrs Falkingham advised him to contact the Parochial Church Council who owns the board in question.

Apologies:

Cllr. Ms J. Symes and Cllr. R. Wood
