About The Event

Forgiveness Initiation

Forgiveness is a multi-disciplinary process whereby mindfulness can help our understanding of the complex nature of interpersonal relationships which have caused us harm and grievance. Mindfulness plays a significant role in reducing negative effect such unconscious bias, prejudice, and resentment while forgiveness allows for the containment or protectory of deep insight and wisdom. The forgiveness enquiry is therefore a unique space which brings the elements of non-judgement and benevolence towards unpleased discord which can dwell In our psyche for years unattended. The value of this process deserves a full status along side its counterparts of compassion, equanimity and Metta Practice.

This workshop will explore the intersectionalities between forgiveness and mindfulness. We will explore this within a discussion panel on the appropriateness of challenging broken systems and systemic oppression.  We will have a presentation, and guided meditation. Panel  -Barbara Soltero, PhD-candidate, Vicen Cullen, Imani Sorhanindo and Paula Watson.
